Nepean Rowing Club: News

Newcastle Grammar School Regatta 29th October

26/12/2016

We were back to Berry Park for another regatta and the weather was much more pleasant than last time.
Twenty one rowers represented Nepean on the day. Though we did not have any eights competing we did very well in the quads and four. The men won the D quad, C quad and the seeded coxed four. While the women took out the D quad, C quad and the under 17 quad.  They also combined to take out two divisions of the mixed quads.

The small boat classes also saw some good results. Victoria and Genevieve stepped up to racing in under 17’s in their double and took out a good win. They then went on later in the day to take out their respective divisions in the C grade singles. The D grade women’s single saw a close race with Aimee claiming the win with less than a three second lead over an Endeavour sculler. Maral took out the win in the under 17 single. Tallara and Jacqui were coming off a win in the pair in the Spring regatta earlier in the month and looked to replicate this in the C grade double this regatta. They worked well together and took out the win. Tallara then teamed up with Jason in the mixed doubles and though some would say their technique was ‘rough’, they got the job done and went away with the win.

A big thank you to everyone who helped make the day possible and it was once again great to see fellow rowers support each other both on and off the water.
