Spring Regatta 17/10: NRC report
A warm day was expected and the weather did not disappoint with favourable conditions being around all day.
Racing for Nepean got under way with the first race of the day featuring Paul, Magnus, Ian and Peter who were contesting the men’s C quad. After a tight finish they came in second with less than a second between them and first place. The second division of the same event saw Chris, Joel, Angus and Henry take to the water and another tight race unfolded with this time Nepean taking the win. This quad separated into C doubles with Angus and Henry taking second place after losing out to a strong Drummoyne crew. Chris and Joel contested the second division and claimed first place.
The men’s C single saw Magnus take out first place while in the men’s B single Joel claimed third with Henry and Angus going away with personal best times. Tallara and Annabelle, after competing in a women’s B double backed up to race in a C pair where they took out third place. Elizabeth took to the water for her first race ever and claimed sixth place in the women’s novice single. Ertan and Matt also competed in novice racing and contested the men’s novice double and after a rough start took out first place. Pat had a very controlled race and claimed his first win in a single in the men’s D grade race.
It was a great day of racing and a big thankyou to everyone who made it such a smooth running day.
