OUR STORY. OUR RIVER. OUR COMMUNITY.

For almost 100 years, Nepean Rowing Club has been part of life on the Nepean River. Founded in 1928 by people with a passion for rowing and their community, the club has grown from a sporting clubhouse into a place where rowing, hospitality, entertainment, celebrations and community come together.

1928 — WHERE IT BEGAN

Nepean Rowing Club was established by a passionate group of rowing enthusiasts who recognised the Nepean River as an outstanding natural rowing course and saw an opportunity to build something lasting for the community.

GROWING ON THE NEPEAN

Over the decades, members, volunteers, competitors and community leaders helped build the club and strengthen rowing in Western Sydney. The river remained at the centre of club life through every stage of growth and change.

GENERATIONS OF ROWERS

The club has supported rowers of different ages and abilities, from people discovering the sport for the first time to athletes representing at higher levels. For many, rowing at Nepean has also meant fitness, friendship and a lifelong connection to the river.

MORE THAN A ROWING CLUB

As the club evolved, so did its role in the community. The Rowers became a place for dining, entertainment, celebrations and community connection while continuing to support the sport that started it all.

TODAY

Today, The Rowers brings together sport, hospitality and community in one of Penrith’s most distinctive riverside locations.

2028 — 100 YEARS ON THE NEPEAN

As we approach our centenary, we honour the people who built the club, celebrate everyone who has contributed to its story and look forward to the next generation of life on the Nepean.

OUR VISION

To be the heart of the Nepean community, honouring our rowing heritage while providing outstanding experiences, facilities and opportunities for members, guests and future generations.

OUR VALUES — OUR PROMISE

The management and staff of The Rowers are committed to providing professional, courteous and efficient service across food, beverage, private functions and entertainment.
